I remember getting out of bed on 9/12/2001, wishful thinking that yesterday was just a bad nightmare...not knowing yet if anyone I knew was there.....learning later on that 28 people from our hometown area perished on 9/11.

We didn't sleep at all that night.

At the hardware store, I stood in line with the others to buy my flag, no one said a word...but I remember what I was thinking like it was yesterday.

Maybe I didn't notice on the 5 minute ride to the store, but I definitely noticed on the ride home....Red, White and Blue everywhere..

It was a struggle for us then, still is now sometimes.  At the time, our 4 children were ages 5,3,3 & 3......(that's not a typo!)

I had spent the last 3 years going through the motions.....

3 hours commuting to work every day...Leaving in the morning before the kids woke up, and many times getting stuck in traffic on the way home, getting home too late to see them awake....Again.

Man, I still hate the PA turnpike!

My wife Abby is incredible....she is so strong that she made it look easy, doing everything herself, but she knew as well that day that we needed to change our lives.

On 9/12/2001, Abby and I launched our plan to start LifeInsuranceAdvisors.com.
