What to Expect from Life Insurance Underwriters:

Most kidney cancer cases will be postponed for a period of time after the completion of thyroid cancer treatment.

For smaller Stage T0 and T1 kidney cancers, there is typically a postpone period of 1-2 years from the date you complete treatment until life insurance is available.

After the postpone period of 1-2 years, a flat extra will be added to the standard life insurance rates.

For Stage T2 and Stage T3 kidney cancers, the postpone period before coverage is available will be longer, in some cases as long as 5 years.  After the postpone period, a flat extra would apply for approximately 10 years, followed by standard life insurance rates.

Here is additional Flat Extra Life Insurance Information.

For Stage T0 and T1 kidney cancers, flat extras are closer to the lower price range, while T2 and T3 are towards the high end.

The amount of the flat extra may be in the $750 per every $100,000 of coverage to a flat extra of $1500 per every $100,000 of coverage.

Flat extras typically last for 7-10 years, after that time you would pay the standard life insurance rates.
